In his high school days his deepest interest was perhaps in art. He completed the 6th year (Shilpa Ratna Part-I) in 2008 with first class and several distinctions. He himself also had many students at his class which he ran on the yard of his house. The art classes, however, were discontinued when he was in the 1st year (BA). By that time his interest in art was to find a new avenue. With his college friend Gopal he became a student of Kanan Art Academy for some months about 2009 - 2010 (Second year in college). There they worked outdoor and produced several good paintings and sketches. A few samples are here. He had another hobby of collecting artistic earthen pottery from Madhyamgram-Birati region. These items he preserved with great care and affection and used for the purpose of decoration on special occasions. In all programmes of the Mahamandal at Kalyani he was in the work of decoration. He could blend fine aesthetic sense with exigencies of work and financial constraints.
