Dedicated to Arup

Arup, an unusually gifted youth, passed away suddenly on 18 Nov 2013 at the age of 23, due to sudden unexpected death syndrome (SUDS). He will always be remembered by his family and friends with great affection and adoration. The bright, lively, loving young man had plans to work for India to bring about a big change. Unusual for his age, he had clear concepts, practical sense, great work efficiency, keen interest for perfection in everything, and - above all - intense feeling for deprived children. His life reminds one of the famous Sanskrit saying: "Muhurtam jvalitam shreyah, na tu dhumaayitam chiram" - it is far better to live a short life of Fire, emitting effulgent Light, than to smoulder for ages. He was physically fit and handsome; he used to trek to the high altitudes of the Himalayas at ease. He was passionately creative in art and photography. He understood the political and economic situation of the country very well. He is admired for his honesty, sense of decency, and power of empathy that surpass what common people would ever aspire for.

Death is not extinguishing the light; it is only putting out the lamp because the dawn has come.... Rabindranath Tagore
From Dada on 14/04/2015
Death is nothing at all... I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I and you are you - Whatever we were to each other, That we are still. Call me by my old familiar name, Speak to me in the easy way you always used, Put no difference into your tone, Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow, Laugh as we always laughed - At the little jokes we always enjoyed together... Play, smile, think of me, pray for me... Let my name be ever the household word that it always was - Let it be spoken without effort, Without the ghost of a shadow in it. Life means all that it ever meant, It is the same as it ever was, There is absolute unbroken continuity. What is death but a negligible accident? Why should I be out of mind Because I am out of sight? I am waiting for you for an interval Somewhere very near... Just around the corner... All is well. Nothing is past; nothing is lost... One brief moment and all will be as it was before! How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!

When dear ones are parted by death, mortal memory may fail to recall the pledges of love they made; but true love never forgets, nor does it die. For incarnations, it escapes from the heart of one form and enters that of another, pursuing the beloved, fulfilling all its promises until the emancipation of those souls in Eternal Love.
