Before he completed three years, the child was sent to a primary school, Shishu Patha Bhavan, in his hometown. There he studied in the nursery level for one year, kindergarten level for two years, and also from standard I to IV. While in Class III he took the Science Talent Search Test 1999 organized by Jatiya Vijnan Parishad and did well. Then he got admitted to Pannalal Institution, Kalyani in Class V in the year 2000. From this school he passed the Secondary (Madhyamik) Examination in 2006 and the Higher Secondary Examination in 2008, both of the West Bengal boards. From the school days he was by nature very sweet, cool, and sincere. He was taught at home by private tutors in early days. Among the tutors during the HS and BA (Part-I & II) days Sri Sanjay Mandal deserves special mention, who also became a friend of his. Sanjay used to arrange an annual picnic with his students. Along with other students Arup participated in these events and enjoyed. As he grew up he was very dutiful and took over himself a lot of responsibilities of home, including marketing from the age of 11. At the age of 13, when he was a student of class IX, he came to the Kalyani Vivekananda Yuva Mahamandal, first as a student. He never gave it up. He adored the ideal of Swami Vivekananda - the ideal of man-making and service to humanity - by heart. He gradually started practising mental concentration, prayer for the well-being of all. He was already a very good boy by nature. Here he found the rationale for being out and out honest and devoted to 'being good and doing good' - the simple message of the Buddha and Vivekananda. He used to play football, cricket, badminton, and carrom at Sanghamitra Club opposite his home. A good athlete, he won several prizes in running in local sports competitions. He developed technical skills from an early age out of natural interest and took a six month course on electronic trade from April to September 2007 at Ambedkar Bhavan, Kalyani. From high schooldays his deepest interest was perhaps in fine art (drawing and painting). He completed the 6th year (Shilpa Ratna Part-I) in 2008 with first class and several distinctions. He himself also had many students at his class which he ran on the yard of his house. And with his brother he planted and nurtured flowering plants in their house. Just after the HS exams, instead of misusing time, he did a three month course of the University of Kalyani on computer education (MS Office and Internet).
