After graduation Arup studied M.A. in History at the University of Kalyani from 2011 to 2013. He studied with his friend Gopal before exams and always stressed on conception rather than memorization. His university days were those of great maturity. He took much interest in art, literature, photography, trekking, and all that. In October 2011 he toured Sikkim Himalayas (post-earthquake) with 'Dada', Avijit-da and his family. In October 2012 with the same team he had a great experience of trekking to Pindari and Kafni glaciers in Uttarakhand Himalayas. His family house was extended and he decorated it with his natural sense of decency. He regularly nurtured the lucky bamboo and other plants he kept in the rooms. Moreover, the Central Park house, where he stayed most of the time, was to be sold to a builder in return for flats and money. He did a lot to make and fine-tune the plans with 'Dada'. And that consumed a considerable amount of time in 2013. But, above all, he was deeply concerned about the prevailing situation of the country, especially for the last one year. He was planning, along with his 'Dada' and others, to start a new organization to galvanize the youth power into action. There was a long term strategy, but the beginning was to be humble. There were several meetings. Arup and 'Dada' visited Murshidabad and Jalpaiguri districts in March 2013, that would mark the beginning of tours to gain first hand experience of the ground realities. He arranged annual picnics for the students of his coaching class in the winter and tried to introduce extempore elocution on various subjects to make the students think. He himself did a lot of homework on this. However, he could not bring forth any response from them. But that was the last picnic; so the experiment ended abruptly in its inception. In this period he was also preparing for competitive exams for jobs, sometimes with another friend Prokash. Lately he decided firmly to go for B. Ed. and a teaching job in a school. But that was not to be! He passed away about a week before his MA Part-II exams were to commence.
